Sailrock Resort - An Island Paradise in Turks and Caicos

I recently spent 5 wonderful days at Sailrock Resort on the island of South Caicos in Turks and Caicos. This beautiful resort is only 1 of 2 resorts on the island so it really felt like we were retreating to out own secluded island paradise. Sailrock Resort sits on the northern tip of the island, on a peninsula all by itself, so this location definitely added to that feeling. Our 5 days were spent enjoying the stunning beaches and incredibly blue water that surround the resort.

Here is an aerial highlight reel of Sailrock Resort.

Getting There.

To reach Sailrock Resort, you first have to fly into Providenciales (the largest city in Turks and Caicos). The flight from Miami to Providenciales that I took was only about an hour and 45 min flight. From Providenciales, you then take a 15 minute flight to Cockburn Harbour on the island of South Caicos. These flights are on interCaribbean and are on very small planes. Personally, I loved these small planes since everyone had a window seat and the views flying over Turks and Caicos were incredible.

Once you land at Cockburn Harbour, Sailrock Resort will be there to pick you up and transport you to the resort, about 15 minutes away.

The Island.

As I mentioned above, one of the more unique things about Sailrock Resort is its location. Its not on the main island in Turks and Caicos but is instead on the island of South Caicos, which is the seventh-largest island in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, with a land area of 21.2 square kilometres. This relatively small island gives the resort its isolated and peaceful feel. The entire island is surrounded by incredibly blue water that is perfect for swimming in.

Beach Activities.

Since Sailrock Resort sits on a Peninsula, there are two main beaches you can easily access. Each has plenty to do, but the west beach has some extra things to enjoy. There are kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and even a couple hobie cats that you can take out on the water. Personally, the hobie cats were my favorite! It was quite windy while we were there so we were moving pretty fast across the water.

Once you’re tired of sailing or paddling on the water, there are plenty of lounge chairs for you to relax in.

Also, there are several beach bonfires that take place each week. They do a bbq right there on the beach as well as s’mores for dessert! I definitely recommend heading down there for one of these bonfire nights during your stay.

Boat Trips.

During our stay at Sailrock Resort, we took 2 boat trips off the island of South Caicos. The first was a 20-30 minutes ride to a secluded white sand beach. We were able to relax on that beach, as well as swim in the beautiful water offshore.

The second boat trip we did one definitely one of the highlights of the whole trip for me! We departed from the harbor in the town of Cockburn Harbour, and headed to some of the clearest water I have ever swam in. We spent hours swimming around and relaxing on the boat. The marine life was abundant and so cool to see in person. I would definitely recommend this trip with any visit to Sailrock.

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into what a trip to Sailrock Resort in Turks and Caicos might look like. I certainly had a blast on my visit and hope to return again someday.

*while this blog post is my own doing, and all opinions my own, I must disclose that my stay at the resort was gifted by the resort.
